About Us>Welcome Message Welcome to the Homepage of the Hong Kong Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (HKCPEC). HKCPEC was established in March 1990. It advises the Secretary for Commerce, Economic and Development (SCED) on matters relating to the participation of Hong Kong, China in the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) and to coordinate Hong Kong, China's input to the Council. The HKCPEC membership comprises 13 members from the Government, business and academic sectors appointed by SCED. The unique tripartite membership provides an independent and unofficial voice on current policy issues in the Asia Pacific region. HKCPEC members actively participate in the PECC activities and make valuable contribution in various aspects. HKCPEC was the Chair of PECC during 1999 - 2001.
